Pisces Horoscope for April 2012

This is a massively important month for you, dear Pisces, on many levels. April will be divided in two parts, with the first part bringing quiet, thoughtful, perhaps somber discussions about finances. The second half, beginning with the new moon April 21, will be just the opposite - full of light, excitement, opportunity, and possible travel. The second half of April will also put a strong emphasis on your ability to communicate clearly and in a meaningful way with others, whether it be close friends within your circle, with associates within your industry, or to the world at large. There'll be lots for me to tell you, so let's start at the top.

The thinking planet, Mercury, has been retrograde since March 12 but turns direct almost the minute the month begins, April 4. This is great news, for when Mercury is retrograde it means it is one of the most unfortunate times of the year to sign a contract. If we sign when Mercury is out of phase, that deal would have to be redone sometime later, as it would never "stick" as written. This is often because elements in your environment are evolving and shifting rapidly during a Mercury retrograde period, but the danger in all this is that everything appears quite normal, so you would not be able to immediately detect changes in the underpinnings of relationships and events. Those will become public later, after certain discussions have taken place.

Also, people - those you deal with, but also you - become forgetful or distracted, so decisions made are not always the best ones, and have to be tweaked later. Moving parts in machines, appliances, and electronics wear out at this time too, and often those machines were working quite perfectly prior to the retrograde, and you had no idea anything was wearing down. This is why we often have to pay visits to the repair shop during Mercury retrograde periods. Mercury retrograde periods are well known for showing up weak links in all endeavors and products. Now, Mercury will goes direct on April 4, but before you sign a contract or launch a venture on or after that date, wait.

The warrior-planet, Mars, will go direct too, April 13, and you need both planets to be moving in a strong and sturdy way. Mars is the natural ruler of your second house of personal wealth and earned income. On January 23, Mars went retrograde, so you might want to think back to that date, to recall whether certain funds were contested or put in limbo. For example, if you were in a court case, you may not have had access to finds you were awarded, say, because the other side decided to go into appeal. Or, if you asked for a raise, you may have been unclear where you stood because you have not received an answer yet - by April 13 you will know more. If you are waiting for venture capital, for some reason, those funds may have gone into limbo while you waited to find out if they would ever come. Now funds will either be released or you will be told where the discussions will go next. You will not be in the fog any longer. Chances are, you will like the news you get.

Just prior to Mars' turn direct, on Sunday, April 8, you may get news of money, or an actual check, in the mail. How sweet - when it comes it will be completely unexpected, thanks to the interplay of Venus and Uranus. It seems it may come from a kind family member who loves you very much.

Mars has been in Virgo since mid-November, so it seems all Pisces are struggling with someone who has been critical or outright aggressive and determined to take a piece of your pie. You wouldn't feel this thorny side of Mars in Virgo all the time, only when Mars moves into the mathematical degrees opposite your Sun. Even those Pisces who say the trend has not been too hard on them found that partnerships that you were trying to forge brought out differences between you and the person you were trying to align with - not the similarities. This could have been a person (or whole company) with whom you are forging a joint venture, in business or in love.

This means, for example, contractual talks may have required some discussion and delay. Good - that's exactly the right way for you to have used this energy. This month, Pisces who have birthdays that fall from February 22 to 24 will feel Mars in Virgo the most, but by May, Mars will have moved too deeply into Virgo to trouble you any longer. This is still another reason to make all your biggest initiations AFTER April 21.

By May, Mars will accelerate its speed, so if you did notice a challenger in your midst, this person will be on his or her way out soon. In April, Mars will not move forward as fast as I'd like him to move, even though moving direct - Mars needs time to ramp up to become the normal little energizer he is, and that won't happen until June. After April 13, things will move in the right direction. I still want you to wait. I will tell you why in a minute, but first I need to discuss the full moon.

The full moon, April 6, falling in Libra 17 degrees, may turn out to be a tough moment of the month, and that is why I want you to wait until you have passed the aspect coming on April 15 involving Saturn and the Sun, because they seem to be connected.

Since October 2009, you've had Saturn in your eighth house of other people's money. This has made resources scarce, even if you had a lot of money coming in. Saturn usually asks us to sacrifice for a larger goal. You may have been almost forced to decide what in your life is most valuable to you.

Let's say you had plenty of money coming in, but you wanted to invest most of your cash in your own business. Or, say you have a child who was suffering, because he or she is ill or - if your child is more grown up and out of college - is currently out of work. You may have decided, "I don't need a vacation, more shoes, or a new car. I need to help my child." Having material things pales in comparison when you see someone near you suffering.

This is always the case with Pisces - the need to bring relief and comfort is strong, as well as the need to be independent and creative. How you handled your finances over the past three years says a lot about what you value. Money is, after all, stored energy. (We get paid for our labors by payments of money, so labor is translated into cash.) How you spend that cash - or energy - is very revealing of your priorities.

This month's full moon, April 6, as said, in Libra, 17 degrees, falls in the same house that Saturn is based, but does not fall close to this taskmaster planet. Saturn is at 27 degrees, far enough away to not be a big factor at this full moon, but close enough to possibly cause a somber conversation. The eighth house rules taxes, loans, creditors, mortgages, and so forth. Pluto will be at odds with this full moon, so someone - the government, a creditor - will be insistent you pay some sort of debt for an obligation you agreed to some time ago.

If you feel you do not owe this money, you can enlist help of an accountant, lawyer, mediator, or other middleman to negotiate this matter. If you feel the other person is right but you don't have the money to pay, you might try to borrow what you need, ask for a payment plan, or try for a new payment date. There are options, and depending on your situation, you can choose the one that fits you best. As long as you are earnest and honest (qualities Saturn will want to see in you), you can find relief and a way out.

Pisces generally likes to work as a self-employed person, and under those circumstances you may not always know what tax is due at year end, unless you were watching your income over each quarter and sending proper estimated payments. In this economy, you may not have been able to make proper estimated payments. It happens - do not panic. A full moon is always emotional. You can find an answer.

One week later, on April 15, we have a tough aspect that I call one of the hardest days of the year, Saturn opposed to the Sun. The Sun will be in your house of earned income, and Saturn in the opposite house, in money obligated to others. This is why I feel this date, April 15, is connected to the date of the full moon, April 6 (plus or minus four days). The same theme seems to arise. Take it slow and easy.

The Sun rules assignments, and on April 15, the Sun will be under attack by Saturn. It's possible someone owes you a check and is being slow to pay. Mars, the planet that rules your income house, is moving ahead, so your long-term financial outlook is excellent - your income should be going up. Saturn is currently moving retrograde (back into Libra, the place we don't want him to be) but will turn direct on June 24 and will leave Libra by October 4. That is your celebration day! You are almost done with almost three years of Saturn. His move backward is helping you look over the past years and decide what worked and what did not. It's a kind of cleanup phase - you are almost done with that, too.

I had said, wait to sign contracts. If you can - and I think you can wait, looking at your chart - I ask you to sign at or after the new moon April 21, the date of the glorious new moon in your third house of contractual agreements. This area of your chart rules all negotiations too, so you seem to be in an excellent position, for you have what the other party wants. If your birthday falls on February 21 plus or minus five days, your name is being called out directly by this full moon.

This new moon of April 21, in Taurus, 2 degrees, will be one of the finest new moons of the year. It sends a beautiful vibration to Mars in your partnership house, and to Pluto in your house of hopes and wishes, friendship, and community. A golden triangle will appear in the sky linking Pluto, Mars, and the new moon / Sun, so what you have going on in April will help you enormously. Pluto's part indicates that your participation in a group, social media, a club, charity, political organization, or a group will prove to be VERY helpful. Mars' position reveals why a partner will be so integral to your success and sense of security.

Neptune, now in Pisces, will also get into the act. Neptune will impart a lovely artistic glow, taking your imagination to new heights. Pluto will work with Neptune to help you bring new ideas to market. If your birthday falls on or near February 22-27 you are receiving the direct, rare rays of Neptune and Pluto now. Because it takes Neptune 168 years to circle the Sun, some people never get to experience what you are having now. It's rare and made more special because Neptune is your ruling planet. This puts Pisces (and those with Pisces rising) in a position to best take full advantage of Neptune's gifts.

Although not part of the golden triangle, Jupiter is also in your third house and is the main reason you will be showered with near-miraculous luck in communications in April! You appear to have a partner with whom to combine energies that understands you and will treat you with respect and fairness. This person may be someone you love and whom you want to be engaged to now or in time. Or, the partnership may be for business, and you may be ready to unite energies with someone (or a whole company) in a joint venture. In this scenario, it looks like you will share profits evenly and fairly, and that the party you sign with will later fulfill their promises to you.

Jupiter, the great planet, will contact your Sun in April, May, and June if you have a birthday that falls March 3 to 10, or close to these days. Jupiter is in perfect position to help you.

If your birthday does not fall in that span of days, you may have planets that fall from 13 degrees to 20 degrees of Pisces, Cancer, Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn, or Scorpio, and you too will benefit. Jupiter will move into deeper degrees of Taurus, so more birthdays will come up in May and June. Be of good cheer, dear Pisces. I am being very specific, and splitting hairs. In truth, ALL Pisces will benefit!

You appear to have struggled with this matter for a long time, possibly years, but at this juncture, may be seeing an answer that will allow you to turn a corner. You must not sign earlier than April 21, as none of this goodness will be available to you if you sign prior to the new moon. New moons open a portal of energy, and you cannot feel its goodness until AFTER it appears, not a moment before!

The third house, to be so brilliantly lit for you and to send you goodness from April 21 to May 15, covers many areas that all glow for you now: contractual agreements, publicity, speaking engagements, all writing (from books to screenplays, advertising copy to translations), social networking, publicity, advertising, sales, travel, transportation, courier services, and the shipping industry. These areas are so very fortunate for you now, and you may see profits from those areas, too.

It would be a great time to hand in a manuscript, get a book published, launch advertising or a publicity campaign, or to accept a speaking engagement just after April 21. You may travel this month, too, and trips taken closer to home would be more fun and more productive for you than ones that would take you overseas or to a very distant point in your country

Aim to finish voicing announcements and decisions, and taking action, by May 13, for soon after, Venus will go retrograde from May 15 to June 27. Venus rules Taurus, so this beautiful area will shut down at that time and your golden portal will close. Jupiter will exit Taurus on June 11, so this period will abruptly end. As you see, you have a tiny window of time in which to make decisions and take action, but it is a more brilliant window of opportunity than any you've seen in years.

Romance will flourish through flirtatious text messages and fun midnight phone calls with your sweetheart or spouse, but romance will bloom even more so through travel to a nearby location, most likely in the mountains. With planets in sensuous earth sign Taurus, it appears if you take your trip, you will be surrounded with flowers and greenery. Neptune will be speaking to this new moon, too, so a beautiful stream, pond, creek, or even the ocean may be nearby. Jupiter is considered the luxury planet and will provide you with first-class accommodations, and help you weave a beautiful experience, one that may stay with you a very long time, possibly forever.

Venus will enter Gemini on April 3, to stay until August 7, a very long time! (Venus usually only remains in a sign for four weeks.) Venus will be spending her time in your house of home, so you may be thinking about making your quarters much more attractive and inviting. You can do things to improve the appearance of your space now, and entertain more, but I would NOT recommend you do so while Venus is retrograde May 15 to June 27. You will have plenty of time to work on your home later this year.

For now, concentrate on developing and showing off your growing sophistication in communication Take a quick trip if you like, over April 21-22 or in the first half of May. Your vibrations this month will shimmer like gold in the sunlight. What a wonderful time to be a Pisces, or have Pisces rising!

Summary

A financial matter, such as a divorce or court settlement, tax matter, mortgage deal, or bank transaction is likely to come to a finish on or near April 6, the full moon in your house of other people's money. Pluto will be in a harsh angle to this moon, so you may feel pressured to accept a deal that you don't like one bit, or be required to write a check that you feel is not fair.

Someone seems to have wronged you, but because this person has obvious weight, you may not have a lot of options - fighting this would be the equivalent of fighting City Hall. Or, it may be that you just don't have the money to pay, and you will have few options other than to request a payment plan or delay the due date. There are options, so don't panic.

Happily, this is the last time this is likely to happen, for by October Saturn will be out of a difficult placement. In the meantime, there is more good financial news in that Mars will turn from retrograde to direct speed on April 13, so you should see that financial matters move forward. You will stop thinking about the past and turn to face the future. The past won't matter as much - within a few months you can close the chapter on this difficult financial time.

Don't rush to sign an agreement, however, because first you need to get beyond April 15, when Saturn will oppose the Sun, likely to be a depressing day for finances. The universe doesn't know this is tax day in the US, of course, so the coincidence of this happening on April 15 is like a bad cosmic joke. Plan to either do your taxes early so that you don't rush and make unnecessary errors, or ask for an extension if you need it, and file in May when your outlook will be better.

All year you seem to have been working on finding new and more innovative ways to communicate your talents to a wider audience, consumers, or constituency. Often, for highly creative Pisces, this means composing, designing, speaking, writing, directing, choreographing, or doing something else that is highly artistic. Of course, there are many roads to creativity, even in fields that are not generally thought of as "creative."

This month, the new moon, April 21, will bring a confluence of extraordinary events to help you in your quest for self-expression. Some of the news, opportunities, and events you see happening may seem completely unrelated to the other, but yet will work in tandem to allow you to show off your skills in a new way.

At that time, and in the ten days following the new moon of April 21, a rare and very special golden triangle will appear linking the energies of several planets. This three-prong event will link Sun and new moon in your third house of travel communication to Mars, currently in your seventh house of partnership. Those planets will both link to Pluto from different points in the sky, to your eleventh house of groups / community and friendships. Each area provides a clue to your success.

As events unfold, you will see that each planet will work with the other to foster your success in these areas. It appears a partner, middleman, agent, or other go-between will be necessary to help you, so keep your eyes open. Friends and community will also play a part, and that may include your involvement in clubs, charities, or social media.

The fact that a partner is associated with your special luck is remarkable, considering how hard one certain adversary, detractor, critic, opposing lawyer, business partner, or (soon to be former) personal partner has been to you earlier this year. The past few months have been a very hard workout due to this adversarial person. (March-born Pisces, with birthdays that fall from March 7 to 21, know well the problem.) While you will not be out of the woods until July 3, the new moon of April 21 will bring back your faith in people and show you that some partners, agents, and collaborators can be trusted to help you.

Romance is found on short trips. Beautiful, pampering, luxurious accommodations will be yours to enjoy during the time you spend there. Everyone deserves time away from home - this time is yours.

Home will soon become a wonderful, sweet spot for you (so much so you won't want to leave!) - while you can travel, do. Later you'll want to stay wrapped in your cozy harbor of home, your luckiest place to be from June 2012 to June 2013.

Most romantic evenings: April 7, 8, 11, 12, 17, 21, 22, 26, and 27.

Venus will enter your home sector on April 3 to May 9, time to make your home prettier.

The full moon of April 6 will bring news about money you owe, or money that others owe you.

Financial news on April 9 (in this up and down month) should be quite exciting and come out of the blue, thanks to Venus and Uranus.

Mars will go direct on April 13, and that will improve your ability to smooth out any recent differences with your partner. Also, finances will be looking up as well.

The new moon of April 21 will show you how far you've come to communicate well, in a sophisticated way. The market prizes your skills!

April 23 also will allow you to partner up with someone to make money or to have fun. Either is favorable on this day, thanks to Mars and the Sun.

April 21-22 is a day for Pisces, thanks to Neptune in Pisces, in perfect angle to the Sun. You can travel this weekend or spend it thinking about a writing or speaking project.

A powerful friend may come to your aid over the weekend of April 28-29. It's a great time to join a private club or other social organization.

A Letter to My Readers From Susan Miller

A New Title to My Book, "The Year Ahead 2012 and Beyond"

The great sportswriter, Red Smith, once said, "There's nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and open a vein." Now we use computers to write, but the experience the same. Anyone who has ever written a book will agree, it's hard work, but ultimately the most satisfying work you could do on earth. I love to write.

I listened to all you had to say about last year's book. You wanted more pages. You wanted an annex on the nuances of Mercury Retrograde and also on How to Deal with Eclipses. I read what I had written before and that I had posted for you on my site, and those chapters were not good enough. I ripped those chapters apart and added a lot of new material in each. I added a short piece on December 21, 2012, which is the end date of the Mayan calendar and also addressed the controversy about whether you are the sign you think you are (yes), and also addressed whether there is another thirteenth sign (no), and explained why I feel the way I do.

When I was working on each of the signs, I saw that Jupiter would move into Gemini mid-year, to stay until the middle of 2013. When Neptune moved into Pisces on February 3, 2012, this year, this planet of imagination was to stay in Pisces for fourteen years, until January 26, 2026. When Pluto entered Capricorn in 2008, Pluto was prepared to stay - and work on our attitudes toward money - until 2024. Uranus entered Aries last March 11, 2012, to stay until March 6, 2019. Saturn is to move into Scorpio on October 4, 2012, this year, to stay until September 17, 2015. Not all years are the same. As I wrote, I realized in 2012 we were in a year of exceptional change, and each of us was about to transverse from one shore to another. As we gradually cross that bridge, we all would be in the process of saying goodbye to much of our past and walking bravely toward a very new future. It took me time to make sense of all this planetary traffic. Not all signs would feel the shifts of all the planets. For example, Aquarius would feel the move of Uranus to Aries very directly (as Uranus is this sign's ruler), but not be as affected by Pluto in Capricorn. I wanted to pinpoint what was new and fresh with the times we were living in, for no one wants a rerun of past years - and happily I found plenty of evidence of that.

As I wrote, I asked my publisher that we change the name of my book, from the "Year Ahead 2012" to the "Year Ahead 2012 and Beyond." I was spending time looking ahead, and discussing the change in attitude and societal shift some of these planets would have, but I also wanted to look back, to show you where you've been. You are never born brand new into any emerging year, of course, for you bring joys, disappointments, fears, victories, dreams, and a host of experiences and emotions with you into the New Year. Those have to be acknowledged too, so I worked hard at not just trying to walk in your shoes but to actually become you as I wrote, and to see the world as you do, through your eyes, in the light of all your recent experiences as told to me by the planet's positions.

I feel being active on Twitter has made me a better astrologer. I read your posts, and because tweets are short, I can see a great many of your thoughts and experiences. Writing my Year Ahead 2012 Illustrated Calendar (with fine artist Gloria Vanderbilt's work) was a good way for me to carefully study the year's details. I had to first memorize all the planetary positions, and like a forensic scientist see how the planets interconnected with one another to create change.

I saw, for example, that Jupiter was going into Gemini, and that the eclipses in Gemini-Sagittarius this year were destined to speed the progress of Jupiter's good work. New eclipses in the family of Scorpio-Taurus would later work with Saturn, once he moves into Scorpio in October. Uranus and Pluto meanwhile will work to give birth to a new world order. I had discussed that in my essay in my Year Ahead 2012 Calendar, and I don't use the same essays in the book and the calendar. In the front of my book, I hope you will see the essays I wrote on the feel of the year, and how it differs from last year. All kinds of connections were occurring to me, as I saw how the planets were working, not independently, but inter-dependently, to sweep out the old and outmoded, and to bring light to areas of society that need to be addressed.

This week, I will be writing the chapter on Pisces, my last chapter of the book. After that, the book will be done. Each chapter is massive, at least four times or more of the size you are used to seeing in Astrology Zone. We are attempting to put my work into your hands by the new moon April 21, at least digitally. Kindle and Nook will be the first to publish the book, and we are working with a new content manager at Apple, and hope we won't suffer the delays that we had on the iPad last year due to the way manuscripts move through the publication process at Apple. We are learning.

My publisher, Arthur Heydendael, is printing a traditional paper book very quickly. Creative director Jackie Meyer, the former Creative Director of Warner Books, is laying out the quality paperback version of my book. Jackie did the layout of all my calendars and also designed my book last year. I hope you will keep this year's book, as some of the material will be relevant to you in years to come.

I deeply appreciate your patience and support. Writing a book would be a tad easier if I weren't writing 45,000 words for Astrology Zone each month, but I love writing my forecasts for you each month, and I am cheered by knowing that at least you have had all the information you have needed as you awaited the finish of my book.

If you don't know your rising sign, you won't get quite as much out of my monthly forecasts on Astrology Zone or my daily forecasts on cell phones (or delivered to your email box daily by Daily Astrology Zone). To have your chart done, you would need to know your precise time of birth, to the minute. If you do know it, then you would be wise to have your natal chart done. Once you do, you can memorize your rising sign, for it will never change. This explains why all Aries are not alike, or all Gemini - we are all a beautiful, rich combination of the rising sign and Sun sign, as well as a tapestry of the other planets. On the day you were born, the pattern in the sky will never be repeated in time or space - you are truly unique. What a magical piece of information!

Your natal chart will never change - it stays the same for life! You need only do your natal chart once and never again. Once you do have your chart, you will get more insight into your innate gifts and personality strengths.
